It is a common misconception that buying boy’s clothing is a dull affair. I used to have the same view myself, until I became a Mum to two of my own. Gone are the days where the only things you could buy were blue tops and trousers. Quirky prints, interesting designs and variations are showing up all over the place and I have developed a bit of an obsession. I feel a bit guilty buying things for myself so it’s always acceptable to purchase things for the boys instead. Practical… useful even.
As a result of keeping my eyes open for bright colours and patterns, I was recently attracted to a lovely little brand on Instagram. Their Insta profile name jumped out at first ( Robots And Unicorns ) for it’s fun factor, plus their profile was full of great images displaying cool and funky clothing and accessories. I really took a liking to their trousers and contacted them to enthuse how much I liked the site. Before long, two pairs of gorgeous trousers were winging their way to me via the postman. One pair for each of the boys.
The packaging was almost too lovely to open. All to often, I find that leading companies are quite bad with packaging items. Usually, a plastic bag containing a few things in another plastic bag is what you get. That is why I love supporting small businesses. They make an effort with the finer details. Stickers and pretty tissue paper is always a happy sight!
Trying out the Trousers
I put the trousers on the boys immediately, I couldn’t wait to see how they looked. They are great quality, have washed really well and the day the boys wore them I received lots of compliments and enquiries as to where they are from whilst we were at play group. They must have been really comfortable for them to wear as well. I know this because George spent all afternoon practicing his crawling without stopping hardly ever. And Teddy did a little gleeful dance when I put his on and said ‘Oooooo! NEW! Ahhh…. so soft!’. Can’t get any better than that can you really?
Great Quality. Great Price.
If you’re like myself and enjoy shopping for interesting and eye catching prints that are good quality and affordable, then check out their site for yourself here. You can also find them on Facebook here. The trousers I received were just £8.99 a pair which is similar to H&M type pricing only much more unique and, I think, more well made. You can’t beat that feeling of a fresh new purchase, and then the satisfaction that you get when you receive it and know you made a great choice. Try out Robots and Unicorns yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
